I opened the store Two Elle in 2007 at 2309 12th Avenue South in a commercially zoned bungalow house. Then, in 2009 I opened a second location at The Hill Center in Green Hills. The 12South location was affectionately called "the magic little house." It featured Orla Kiely wallpaper, library-style bookcases, and an often-occupied porch swing. The Hill Center location, although new construction, was designed to look like an old bar, complete with a pool table, a stage, a custom-built bar that functioned as our register, and a giant graffiti wall featuring aged versions of our ad campaigns and event posters.
At Two Elle, brand identity was paramount. Whether in ad campaigns, in communication on twoelle.com and live with customers, or simply in our bold red bunny logo, branding drove my every move.
I designed a collection of screenprints for Two Elle in Nashville. It started as a small, branded collection, but it later grew into our best-selling product.
